A product is an item available for sale. Products include physical goods, digital products, and services. You can sell products you manufacture yourself, resell products of other suppliers, or use dropshipping services.

First and foremost, you need to add a Store widget to your project. Then, you can add a product and manage product attributes later on. Let’s see how to enrich your online store with new products.

Adding a new product

Adding a new product to your store is simple. It will only take a few minutes.

Note:

If you want to delete demo products that appear when you create a new account, tick all products, click Bulk Update that appears above the product list, and choose Delete Selected.

To add a new product:

  1. From your Store Manager, go to Catalog Products.
  2. Click + Add New Product.
  3. Enter product details: a name, description, price, and others.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Preview Product to see how it will look in your online store.

Congratulations! You have successfully added a product to your store.

Some products complement each other well, and it’s a great idea to buy them together. You may need to add related products and enrich the assortment of goods your store offers. Find more information in our Adding Related Products article.

You can also group your products into categories to make it easier for customers to find them in your store. Read how to manage product types.

Managing SEO settings for a product

We have the SEO side covered for you. Schema markup (or structured data) is of great relevance for helping search engines index your products and categories better. Your store employs microdata by Schema.org to annotate product information and adds it to all store pages automatically.

Your store also generates product metadata (page title and meta description) by default. These metadata are based on your product’s name and description. If you want to control how Google displays your product pages in search snippets, you can create custom meta titles and descriptions to make them effective for your prospective users.

To create custom meta tags:

  1. Go to Catalog Products from your Store Manager.
  2. Click Edit Products
  3. Switch to the SEO tab.
  4. Write the text in Page Title and Meta Description fields.
  5. Click Save.

Duplicating products

There is the option to add several similar products faster by duplicating product information. All you need to do is modify specific changes in the duplicated description. If you want to add options (e.g., color or size) to a product, add a variation to the existing product instead of duplicating it (you can read our Managing Product Options article).

The copy of the original product you duplicated will be available. The stock keeping unit (SKU) will differ — it is generated automatically and must be unique.

Follow these steps to duplicate a product:

  1. Go to Catalog Products from your Store Manager.
  2. Open the product you want to duplicate.
  3. Click Duplicate Product.
  4. Modify product details.
  5. Click Save.

Updating product details

Upon product creation, you can update or change its details (price, description, image, etc.).

To edit a product:

  1. Go to Catalog Products from your Store Manager.
  2. Click on the product you wish to change.
  3. Update its details.
  4. Save changes.

Saved changes are implemented immediately. They also sync across all your sales channels.

Updating products in bulk

If you need to update large quantities of products in your catalog, you can export and import them. Here’s what you need to do: export the required products to your computer, edit them in a spreadsheet, and re-upload them to your store using the import feature.

Once you’ve prepared a CSV file, you can import it into your store:

  1. Open a Store Manager and go to Catalog Products.
  2. Click Import Products.
  3. Click Choose file and select the CSV file from your computer.
  4. Select the delimiter used in your file (comma, semicolon, or tabulation.)
  5. Select the character encoding used in your file (UTF-8, ISO-8859-1, windows-1256, EUC-CN, and others).
  6. Arrange columns (drag and drop) to mimic your file.
  7. Uncheck the columns that are not used in the file.
  8. Use the Skip column option to exclude up to three columns.
  9. Check the option Delete all products and categories before import if you want to clear the catalog.

This procedure will delete all the products in your store and replace them with the ones from the imported CSV file. You’ll see a notification on successful import once the upload is finished.

Deleting products

You can delete one product or several products at once using a bulk action. If you no longer want to display a product or if you want to delete it permanently when you run out of stock, you can disable its availability instead (by switching the toggle to the Disabled state).

To remove items from the Featured Products section only, assign them to any category and set them as featured. After that, you can remove selected products from the default Front Page category.

Warning!

You must be careful. When you delete a product, it’s permanently removed from the store and can’t be restored.

To delete one product from your catalog:

  1. Go to Catalog Products from your Store Manager.
  2. Choose the product you want to delete.
  3. Click Edit Product, then select Delete Product in the dropdown menu.
  4. Confirm you want to delete this product.

To delete multiple products at the same time (for example, sample products):

  1. From your Store Manager, go to Catalog Products.
  2. Check several products in the list.
  3. Click Bulk Update that appears above the product list.
  4. Choose Delete Selected in the dropdown menu.
